Chief Minister meets students-cum-water conservationists

 Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today met students of Bharat Mata English Medium Higher Secondary School Bilaspur under the leadership of Forest Minister Mr. Mahesh Gaagda at his official residence. The students informed Dr. Raman Singh that they had taken several steps to conserve water in many districts of the State. They had constructed several soaking ponds to conserve water since World Earth Day on 22 April 2016. The rain water is harvested. The rain water is not wasted and the water-table increases. About 460 soaking pits had been constructed till date. The United Nations Water Prize had also nominated them under the Student's category. The students said that 'Mera Poudha-Meri Pehchaan' will be encouraged during the afforestation drive soon. Chief Minister wished the students a bright future. It is a good effort to protect environment. Entire society should be inspired by the efforts of students. They presented canvas and a memento to Dr. Raman Singh. Environmentalist Mr. O. P. Agrawal and Educationist Mr. Panu Halldar were also present.
